XBIZ Magazine Lists The Top 10 Adult Movies of 2011
Source: Press Release
Top adult entertainment studios dug deep into their creative
reservoir in 2011, producing numerous ambitious features that
titillated audiences and showed the level of entertainment they
can achieve.
The best adult movies defied the tired stereotype that porn
stars can’t act, showcasing some performers’ flair for drama
while also placing them in unconventional roles.
These blockbuster movies — the Top 10 of which earned
nominations for XBIZ “Feature Movie of the Year” for the 2012
XBIZ Awards — shined with their originality, innovation and
emotional depth. And they did it without sacrificing the sizzle.
These actors not only delivered their lines with passion, they
also stayed in the moment for the sex.
As the final countdown to the industry’s biggest awards show of
the year begins, XBIZ Magazine is pleased to present The Top
Adult Movies of 2011.
A Little Part of Me (New Sensations)
Director James Avalon’s A Little Part of Me is a genuinely
sweet, well-written, smart story of a bereaved widow (Bobbi
Starr) who tracks down the recipients of her deceased husband’s
organs in the hopes of finding closure and comfort in their
expressions of gratitude. Directing from a script by Tyler
Scott, Avalon produced an adult movie easily worthy of a
primetime cable TV slot. New Sensations’ couples-themed Romance
series continues to show why it’s one of the best lines in adult
entertainment.
Babysitters 2 (Digital Playground)
Fueled by an all-star group of some of the industry’s top
exclusive contract girls, the sequel to Babysitters picks up
where the original left off, with a new crew of stunners who
will do whatever it takes to get the job done. Adult film
sensation Jesse Jane returns as the head of the babysitting
service, sending out naughty dream girls like Riley Steele and
hot newcomer BiBi Jones on house calls. The orgy finale is one
of the must-see sex scenes of 2011.
Boooty Shop (West Coast Productions)
Misty Stone continues to shine as both actress and sex performer
in writer/director Bishop’s irresistible dramedy. The
25-year-old beauty plays Delicious, a street-hustling prostitute
who after inheriting her deceased uncle’s barber shop decides to
get off the track and open a beauty salon with the help of her
hooker friends. Complications surface, however, when her jealous
cousin’s attempt to sabotage the business and her friends’ pimp
demands a cut of its profits.
Dear Abby (New Sensations)
One of the quintessential adult “chick-flicks” of 2011, Dear
Abby follows a relationship advice columnist (Giovanni
Francesco) with some relationship issues of his own. While he’s
great at giving advice, he struggles with his own feelings for
his former fiancée and roommate (Natasha Nice). Skillfully shot
by director Eddie Powell from a script from Jacky St. James —
her screenwriting debut — this movie quickly became one of the
top titles from New Sensations’ couples-themed Romance series.
Fighters (Digital Playground)
On the strength of a career-defining acting performance from
superstar Jesse Jane, this saga about two girls from different
backgrounds destined to meet in the center of the ring has been
a title contender from the moment it was released. Director
Robby D crafted an engaging saga about facing inner demons and
testing one’s limits. And Jesse Jane and co-lead Kayden Kross
showed championship form in the most physically demanding roles
of their careers.
Horizon (Wicked Pictures)
In 2097 Earth has been invaded by hostile extraterrestrials that
have killed most of its population. The spaceship Horizon is
transporting hundreds of refugees to safety on a distant star.
But it crashes on another planet, a mutiny occurs, and the dead
bodies pile up. There is no happy ending. Shot with the Red Epic
digital camera, director Sam Hain gave the movie a terrific look
with first-rate special effects. And jessica drake, who plays
the ship’s commander, leads an ensemble cast that delivers some
of the best acting of the year.
Killer Bodies: The Awakening (Adam & Eve)
Perhaps the most technically innovative movie of the year, this
interactive thriller from director David Lord allows the viewer
to choose his own storyline. Consumers can control the fates of
the stars Tori Black, Alexis Ford and Teagan Presley. The
choose-your-own adventure epic features 10 sex scenes with 32
possible variations for a grand total of 4 hours, 46 minutes of
footage.
My Girlfriend’s Mother (Sweet Sinner/Mile High)
One of director Nica Noelle’s finest movies features Magdalene
St. Michaels, rising star Zoe Voss and Joey Brass, as the young
man with a difficult decision. The tale of seduction follows
Brass who comes home from the Army and meets jaded older woman
Mrs. St. Michaels. As the young stud and older woman embark on a
tricky love affair, Joey meets Magdalene’s daughter Zoe, falling
madly in love with her. An angry, bitter Magdalene has no
intention of letting the young stud go.
Portrait of a Call Girl (Elegant Angel)
In what may be the most dramatic acting turn of the year, rising
star Jessie Andrews plays a call girl who is troubled by her
past and searches for meaning through a series of remarkable
sexual experiences. A relative newcomer to adult movies, Andrews
gives a fearless performance as the call girl Elle, letting go
in her sex scenes with an intensity that belies her age. There
have been other showcase movies that feature the same girl in
every scene, but nothing quite this. Written and directed by
Graham Travis, the movie achieves exceptional levels with its
smart script, gorgeous cinematography and moody musical score.
Savanna Samson is The Masseuse (Vivid Entertainment)
Paul Thomas, one of adult entertainment’s all-time great
storytellers, delivers an instant classic that makes use of all
the filmmaking elements that made him a world-renowned director.
In the final movie he released through Vivid Entertainment,
Thomas leads award-winning actress Savanna Samson to a career
performance. The final package is full of complex characters,
plot twists and kinky, hardcore sex — a throwback to the days of
an era gone by.
