KNEE REPLACEMENT PATIENT GETS NEW ANUS BY MISTAKE

As reported in the Daily Telegraph, a retired woman in Germany checked into the hospital for knee replacement surgery and wound up receiving a new anus instead.

The mix up began when the woman was mistaken with another patient who had been  suffering from incontinence, and was scheduled to have surgery on her sphincter. The clinic in Hochfranken, Bavaria, has since suspended the surgical team.

Now the woman with the new anus is planning to sue the hospital. She still needs the leg operation and is searching for another hospital to perform the surgery.
