Good Vibrations Partners with Planned Parenthood

SAN FRANCISCO - Good Vibrations, the legendary San Francisco-based retailer, has announced its partnership with Planned Parenthood Shasta Pacific throughout April and May.   Its biggest political attack in decades came on February 18, 2011, when the U.S. House of Representatives voted to bar Planned Parenthood health centers from all federal funding.  If this dangerous legislation is enacted it will leave millions without basic health care.  Good Vibrations is committed to supporting this icon of women’s health and freedom.

Beginning April 1st Good Vibrations’ customers can support Planned Parenthood Shasta Pacific, which serves San Francisco and 16 other northern California counties  by making a financial gift at the time of their Good Vibrations purchase in any Good Vibrations retail stores.  100% of your contribution goes to the nonprofit of your choice. 

Planned Parenthood provides life-saving preventative health care to three million women, men and teens year each, including more than 100,000 here in San Francisco and Northern California.  These services include birth control, life-saving breast and cervical cancer screening, STD testing and treatment and HIV testing among other crucial preventative health care and information services. 

In addition to its health care services, Planned Parenthood Shasta Pacific:

Provides medically accurate sex information and education to  teens and their families;

Advocates for all people to have access to affordable quality health care services regardless of their ability to pay.;

Fights to ensure that decisions about whether to become a parent or not are made by a woman, in consultation with her family, her doctor, and her conscience, not the government or politicians.

“GiVe” is Good Vibrations' extensive donation and sponsorship program. For over 30 years Good Vibrations has partnered with hundreds of local and national non-profit organizations donating products, advertising and sponsorship for fundraisers and has provided much needed support for women’s shelters, HIV/AIDS research, art programs, LGBT benefits, breast cancer awareness and much more.  Additionally, every several months Good Vibrations partners with a different nonprofit organization and encourages their customers to contribute directly to them at check-out, online and in the stores.
