The adult business is all about branding. Sometimes the difference in success is how well a star’s name is marketed. Of course, some names are better than others. For every Teagan Presley, Ginger Lynn, Carmen Luvana, or Belladonna there’s a Spantaneus XXXtasy, Rachel Rockets, Ivana Fukalot, Redd Foxxx or a Verri Knotti (Sorry, ladies). After over 40 years since porn became a mass-produced entity, we have seen countless performers and their names cum and go.

A lot can be said for a person’s name because it is one of the main things which identify who we are. We don’t get to name ourselves at birth so sometimes we are stuck with a bad name. After a lot of deliberation, I think it's widely known that I was originally planning on calling myself Anna Karina after French film legend Godards first wife. But some people thought it might sound too pretentious so I changed it.

It's really a two part idea the name - Sasha comes from the singer in KMFDM and the name Grey is an homage to the novel Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, but it's also nod to Dr. Kinsey’s idea that regarding your sexuality everybody falls someplace into a grey scale from straight to gay black to white and most people are really more shade of grey than they care to admit

How did you come up with your porn name?

It was collaboration between me and the owner's of Digital Playground. They liked Sophia because they compare me to Sophia Loren, and Santi to reflect my mixed ethnic background.

How did you come up with your porn name?

Actually when I first started doing scenes it was in Florida for reality-based websites so they only wanted a first name of course. When I did my very first scene I was so nervous I really didn’t think about what my name was going to be, so they picked one for me, Hailey. I liked it and decided to just stick with it. But then came time to come to LA where everyone pretty much has to have a last name because there are so many people with the same first names, so I thought about it and had some help from a friend and came up with Young because it was still normal and not chessy and of course because I looked and still do look young, so it worked for me.

That’s a hard one, each day more new people get into the business and the names… well some are bad and some are actually really good. But I like the ones that sound more real, like it really could be someone’s name, although then again I have met some people that their real names sounds more like porn names so I don’t know.

I think I would probably go with my real first name and a different last name but sorry I am not going to say what that is in here.
