New girl Tanner Mayes making waves in more way than one

In recent weeks there has been a lot going on for new porn performer Tanner Mayes and not necessarily for the best. There have been allegations, with video proof, of anger issues on sets and her storming off. It’s not the first time it has happened on a porn set and I am certainly sure it’s not the last. This interview was conducted a couple weeks prior to these allegations. I asked Tanner on a few occasions to add comments about the “meltdown video,”  but she never got back to me. When I interviewed Tanner, she was very nice, well spoken and seem to have a lot of love for fucking on film. That being said, I give you Tanner Mayes.

Tell me about this tattoo on your hip that says “Just Love Me.” In nearly every BTS people ask about it.

I know right? I just don’t like drama in my life. I don’t like people talking bad about me or behind my back, because I would never do that to anyone. I don’t want any gossip. I just want people to love me. We all could use more love in our lives.

You’ve been in the business a little over a year now. How has it treated you?

I love my job. I mean it’s crazy and I have met some really crazy people. But, I have also met some awesome people too.

How did you find you way into this crazy industry?

I left Michigan to go to Florida and get my GED. I mean I could have gotten it in Michigan, but there isn’t a lot of job opportunity for an 18-year-old there, especially in these economic times.

I lived with my sister and worked at Subway, while I was getting my GED. I worked my ass off at Subway, like eight in the morning to 11 at night, six days a week. Then, I got a job as a secretary at a law office. I do have computer skills and I knew what I was doing, but I think my looks helped me get the job, also.

I worked there for a year, while I went to college and I got a second job to pay the rent at this barbershop that served alcohol. I got fired there though, because I forgot to do all these little things. I was so tired from my other job and in school it was hard to concentrate.

After I got fired, I was doing my monthly budget and I needed to make some money. I was tired of busting my ass, just to make ends meet. I figured I was sexual already and I fucked my boss at the lawyer’s office, so I looked on Craig’s List for online adult work. Missy May found me and introduced me to her agent.

Did you watch a lot of porn before you got into the industry?

No, not at all. In fact, I thought all porn was fake. When I was younger, I thought all porn was like soft-core, where it was all simulated. And when I went online, everything was always covered with black bars or blurred out, so I didn’t think porn was real.

How long did you do porn in Florida?

I did it there for about six or seven months then moved to California.

Being a Midwestern girl how do you like California?

It’s alright I guess. It’s not like Michigan that’s for sure. It is so crowed and the traffic is terrible.

I know, right. Back in Michigan, you can drive five or ten minutes and find a WalMart on just about every corner. Out here, you have to drive like an hour just to go grab something at the store.

Speaking of home, back in Michigan what did you want to do when you grew up?

Well, I wanted to be a veterinarian, then I found out you can’t cure all the animals. You have to put some down. I could never do that. I would rather take them all home with me then kill them. Then, I wanted to be a publicist or a journalist, because I love to write. Later on, I became interested in politics, but when I started doing porn my Mom told me if I had any aspirations of going into politics, it would all be finished when I did porn.

How did Mom handle it when you told her you were going to do porn?

I told my mom I was doing nude modeling and then went into porn. She wasn’t happy with it, but she supports me. I mean, we are close and she has followed my career in porn. I don’t know if she’s watched my films, but I don’t tell her all the dirty things I do. I do tell her about the people I meet, award shows and things like that.

Since you came into the business a little over a year ago and didn’t know much about it. What do you think?

It’s like throwing a two-year-old into a poker game. It’s like everyone thinks all female talent is stupid and they’re not. I’ve met some crazy people, like I said, but I have also met a lot of smart girls who are doing very well.

People think its just sex. Like you show up, fuck and get your money, but it’s not that easy. I notice now that I think throughout the scene of what I will do next, where I will put my hands, how will we work this out.
