Rio
Mariah had a pretty tough life growing up in Rio de Janeiro,
Brazil. At six months old she was adopted by a family who had
already adopted eight other children, so finding herself in such
a large family was difficult for the future porn performer.
Rio Mariah
began working at a young age to make her way through college to
earn her degree in accounting. This is when she received a
letter from her real brother living in London. Once in the UK,
Rio found her self learning how to speak English and working at
a hotel, then she discovered modeling. Soon she was modeling
nude and discovering the adult film industry.
In 2002
Rio Mariah came to Porn Valley and filmed her first seen with
Lexington Steele in Women of Color. Since h.er debut, Rio has
worked with New Sensations, VCA, Anabolic, Platinum X Pictures,
Hustler and Red Light District among others. Rio soon signed on
with Sin City and was nominated for AVN’s Best New Starlet.
How was life
growing up in Rio de Janeiro?
It was
very difficult for me because I didn’t have my real family with
me.
You parents
adopted several children, which is very beautiful. Did you ever
contact the women who gave birth to you?
Well, when
I was nine my birth mom appeared soon after my adopted mother
passed away.
On your website
there is a beautifully written piece called “The Importance of
Time,” did you write that yourself?
No, that
was written by a very good friend of mine who wrote it for me. I
thought it was very nice so I decided to put it on my website.
What made you
want to get into the adult film industry?
Curiosity
and I wanted to try and do something different.
How does the
family feel about your choice of career?
Well, they
found out a couple months ago and now they aren’t talking to me
anymore.
What is the
best part about working in porn?
Having sex
