There is a Time and a Place with Kristina Rose

At the young age of 18 Kristina Rose entered the adult film industry, but not like most girls do. The San Diego-native worked behind the scenes for an online compalny called Adult Check doing customer service work. When the company moved, the sexy black-haired babe was laid off so she went looking for a new job and found one being a photographer assistant.

As they say, one thing led to another and after some encouraging from people behind the scenes of the adult film industry, Kristina Rose made the leap in front of the camera at the age of 23 and hasn’t looked back since. 

Becoming one of today’s hottest performers, the 26-year-old has appreared in more than 250 movies. Due in part to her high energy and intense sex scenes Kristina earned five AVN nominations in 2009 including Best New Starlet. Earlier this year she doubled those nominations with 10, but has yet to win an AVN award.

On a rare day off, I had a chance to sit down with the energetic Kristina Rose while she did her laundry to talk about her career, her fans and her fantasy of Bob Saget.

Well, let’s get to the hot topic at hand. How do you feel about the HIV scare that recently happened?

It's really very sad and unfortunate. 
 

What about AIM? How do you feel they could make the industry safer?

I think both sides of the industry (gay and straight) should require testing. We need to tighten this ship up. AIM has done an amazing job and I know they are always brainstorming ways we can make the industry safer. I think that the entire industry (both gay and straight) needs to have a little get together so we can get more information about how both sides of the industry works. I think together we can come up with ways that will make the entire industry safer. 

I've seen a lot of discrimination going on towards the gay side of the industry because of this recent outbreak. I think the discrimination has little to do with homophobia and more to do with lack of knowledge. Most straight performers (myself included) don't really know too much about how the gay side of the industry works. 

Until recently I was under the impression that both sides of the industry required testing, but it has been explained to me that this is not so. Some gay sets do not require testing because they shoot condom only. It was also explained to me that there are many gay male performers that are currently living with HIV/AIDS and that is why not all gay companies require testing and shoot condom only. 

This information really shocked me and made me sad. I feel that there's gotta be a way we can enforce testing on all sides of the industry while still coming up with a way that performers living with HIV/AIDS can still perform. Maybe performers with HIV/AIDS can perform only with other performers that have HIV/AIDS (of course with a condom only because there are different strains of HIV/AIDS)? I don't know. This is just one idea. People seem to forget (or maybe just don't know), that it's not a "gay thing" it's an "anal sex" thing. Anal sex is considered a "high risk" sex act. Anyone getting a dick in the butt (whether you're male or female/ gay /straight or bi ) is a high risk sex performer. It's my understanding that you're at a much higher risk of getting something if you have anal sex. 

I don't know. These are just my thoughts. 

Another thing that upsets me is that at the end of the day it doesn't matter how patient zero got infected or if they are male/female/gay/straight, someone's life has changed forever. There are a lot of people that seem to forget that fact. No one ever thinks about that. 
 

At times like this with the HIV scare going on, do you have any regrets about coming into the adult film industry?

I'm not sure if it's "regret" that I feel but it definitely affects me when I have to call my mother and tell her there's been an outbreak in the industry. Hearing my mother cry affects me.  Having to explain what's going on in the industry to a civilian boy I'm dating and like very much sucks too.

If you weren’t in the adult business what do you think you would be doing?

If I had the answer to THAT I'd still be a slut, but I'd be slutty for free.

It’s obvious you enjoy your scenes. Were you always this sexual?

I've always been very sexual and just fascinated in general by sex. 
 

How did Mom feel about you fucking boys on film?

My Mom really wishes I would do something else, but she is supportive of me and proud of me.

Being called names and degraded seems to be a turn on for you, especially with Mason’s movies. How is it working with Mason?

I absolutely love working with Mason. She is my favorite director hands DOWN! I've just felt a really close bond with her from the get go.
