The Many Sexy Sides of Carmen Luvana

By Troy Michael (Originally published in Genesis Magazine)

Like the cities she once called home, Carmen Luvana is a fiery, passionate, Latina beauty that is - by and by - bicontinental, bilingual and, perhaps best of all, bisexual.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, the 21-year-old Luvana spent much of her childhood in Puerto Rico. Craving a more fun and exciting lifestyle she eventually returned to the states and settled in Miami, Florida.

With her street-smart demeanor and more than a hint of her native Brooklyn dialect she seems much tougher than her 5’3”; 34C-22-34 stature. While her outgoing and party-girl personality reflects the attitude of her Miami nightlife, when the gloves (and everything else) come off she displays the spicy passion of her adopted land of Puerto Rico.

I had the distinct pleasure of sitting down and talking with the Spanish-speaking Adam & Eve contract superstar and ask about her culturally – and sexually – diverse lifestyle.

You have been in the business for nearly four years. Are you surprised by the amount of your success?

I entered the business not knowing anything about it. I didn’t even know who Ron Jeremy or Jenna Jameson were or anything. I didn’t watch any porn or read any magazines. So I didn’t know anything. Luckily, I have had the right people helping me and backing me up.

How has it been being the first contract star for Adam & Eve?

Adam & Eve has been wonderful people to work with and we are going to do bigger and better things. I would like to do more to cater to the Latin community because I have a strong following with them. The good thing about me is I have a Spanish and white appeal which makes it easier to connect to a wide variety of fans.

No matter if you are speaking English or Spanish, people love your work, even if they don’t understand what you are saying.

A lot of people want me to do Spanish talking films, but Adam & Eve has such a wide variety of fans I can’t do a whole film in Spanish. But even if they don’t understand me they seem to like it.

Tell me about the reality show you and Adam & Eve came up with.

It is called Reality X and it premiered in June. The crew and I went to five cities casting and looking for the next porn stars. Let me tell you, it was not easy. I can be brutal with people, I don’t mind if I hurt their feelings. I am just being honest.

For the fans that came out and thought they could be a porn star, this contest will change your perspective. It is hard work, they didn’t know that part. Ninety percent of the people failed in their auditions.

Did you get people who thought no matter what they were stars?

Some of the girls in Jamaica were very high maintenance and giving us problems. Just because they looked hot doesn’t mean they are good to work with. They had bad attitudes and that doesn’t cut it with me. We focused on everything from looks, to attitude to the way they interacted with the other girls off camera. We had girls crying, arguing, and girls wanting to fight. It was drama all the time.

I am sure you had a lot of fake people too.

Everyone was trying going be nice to me for all the wrong reasons so they could win. But I can see right through that shit. I am not stupid you know.

One female was weird. All of the sudden she had personal issues and was cussing everyone out and I had to tell her to get the fuck out of Jamaica.

What about this “sniff test” you had to do?

Oh, no! How did you hear about that? Well, there were these two girls really at each other. This one girl was catty and she made up a rumor this other girl smelled, you know her pussy smelled. I knew she was making it up. So I went up to this girl, who she was saying smelled and did a touch and smell test to make sure she didn’t stink. And she didn’t so I threw the girl off the set that made up that rumor.

Seeing how you never watched porn or read about porn before, how did things go for you at the beginning of your career?

I started in November of 2001 and right before that I went to the AVN Convention. Someone was interviewing me and asking me who would I like to fuck on film and I didn’t know anyone. I remember someone saying Ron Jeremy in the crowd so I just blurted out I wanted to fuck Ron Jeremy and I had no idea who he even was or looked like.

Have you ever worked with Ron?

No, no I haven’t. Also, something funny was in the third movie I was doing was for Vivid and it had Kobe Tai in it. Jenna was there and comes up to me and congratulates me on becoming a Vivid Girl and I didn’t even know who she was. I thought she was working on the set.

Being you experienced a lot of different cultures as a child, how was your childhood growing up?

I was on of those crazy, crazy outgoing girls. I was always having sex, so I guess that made going to make films made it easier transition for me.

You recently did your first anal scene on film. How did that go for you?

The first time I did anal in my life I came in like two seconds. And I thought, ‘If anal sex makes me cum this hard why did it take me so long to try it?’ Doing it on film wasn’t that big of a deal. I admit I was a little nervous. I will do more anal in film when the time is right.

So having sex on film wasn’t an issue for you?

No not at all. I love me and I love sex. I figure I get to do what I love and I get paid for it. Can you believe that? How lucky am I?
