As most know Belladonna is one of my all-time favorite porn performers and since taking in the majority of her films, I’ve seen her bring in a lot of great talent over the years. One of those talents is 34B-27-41 California native Bobbi Starr.

The 26-year-old multi-award winner (2008-09 CAVR Starlet of Year and 2009 XRCO Award for Super-slut) came into the adult industry when she was 23-years-old and has amassed nearly 500 scenes to her credit, more than ten of those are Belladonna Entertainment films and more than 50 of said films were with the Evil Angel company.

Born in Santa Clara, California the self-proclaimed pro-sex feminist, Starr had a solid upbringing in an Italian/Hungarian household. Starr learned how to play oboe and piano and went on to graduate from San Jose State University with her bachelors in music. I don’t know why, but I have loved polar bears since I was little. I have so many I think I am going to have a yard sale and sell some of them. I have one I got when I was 4-years-old named Polie Jelly Bean Sundae. I never even had a Jelly Bean sundae, but all my stuffed animals would have that last name. I know that sounds pretty weird.

Growing up, was your room decorated with all those Coca-Cola polar bears?

Yeah I had some of those then I got older and into music so I had the polar bears with Primus and Metallica posters on the walls.

Coming from a Hungarian/Italian background, how great were the home cooked meals at your house?

Yeah, we have good food. My Mom is a great cook with both Hungarian and Italian food, but sometimes she would combine both for an interesting combination.

Speaking of the family, how did they react when you told them you were doing porn?

They were shocked, but what else would you expect? Let me put it this way… if there’s a mom out there that actually wants their daughter to go into porn is nuts. My Mom doesn’t think I am using my intelligence and art/music to my ability. But she’s come around. My Mom worked in therapy and worked suicide hotlines and she had a general idea of porn, but I am teaching her all the positive things that regular people don’t see. I am showing her how women can be empowered by porn and do really well like Belladonna or Tristan Taormino – two people I try to model my career after.

Don’t get me wrong, there are companies and people who do give off that negative energy in porn, but not the entire industry is like that. I am an educated woman and I’ve never done drugs, never been molested and I am doing ok in the porn industry.

What did you want to be when you were a kid?

When I was really little I wanted to be a model when I grew up. My step grandma was a model in the 50s and wanted me to get into it. I did it for a little bit and hated it. Then I wanted to be a pediatrician, then started playing music and got accepted to colleges I was applying to.

I applied to some colleges as wanting to be a medical student and some in music. So I got a swimming scholarship at San Jose State and went there. But I stopped swimming and became music major. I studied with teachers from the professors at Juliard and from teachers from around the world and got jaded and frustrated with the attitudes from the people in the orchestras I played with.

Before porn were you sexually adventurous?

Yeah I was more sexually adventurous then than I am now because I hadn’t experienced anything. I wanted to try it all from orgies, to multiple partners and being promiscuous with people I just met.

Tell me about these orgies…

I went to a couple parties with the boyfriend which introduced me to porn that ended up being sex parties or orgies. Some of them weren’t planned - they just ended up that way. Then being in San Francisco, we went to sex clubs. After doing it I liked the idea, but some of the people are kind of gross. Not being cirtical of those people but there is a majority of less attractive than attractive people at those types of clubs. So now I can do the same thing in porn and work with really hot guys.

Looking back on your career thus far, would you do anything different?

No I don’t think so, the only thing I would have done different is I am really bad about self promotion. But now in the last six months I’ve been doing it and wish did it earlier. I am happy where I am though.

In fact, I’ve met all my goals, so far with wanting to work with Belladonna and I wanted to work for and sign for Evil Angel at the conventions and I’ve done that too.

What goals do you have left? What’s the future hold for Bobbi Starr?

I would like to get into directing and start my own coimpany. I know it sounds cliché, but like I said earlier, I’d like to follow the path Tristan and Bella has laid down.

No contract star ambitions?

No, not at all. I think with all the stuff I’ve done in some of my films, being a contract girl is far behind me now.

Yeah, not many contract stars win the XRCO Award for Superslut like you did in 2009. Tell me more about your sexual adventers on or off the camera that you really liked.

The one thing I had a lot of fun with was when I was touring with orchastras. I would love to fuck people in other countries that didn’t speak English. Sometimes there was someone there to get the introductions, but then we’d take it from there and just fuck even though we didn’t understand each others’ language.

Before porn, even before the orgies, were you the girl who was sexually experimental and masturbating all the time?
