Talking with Porn Goddess Ashton Moore

My phone rings and a lovely voice on the other end asked for me. It is the beautiful Ashton Moore calling for our interview and she is right on time, you got to love that with a porn girl.

The gorgeous blonde is calling from Hollywood at the Spearmint Rhino where she is working the last weekend of her month-long feature dance tour.

She is in high spirits because the tour is coming to a close so she can go back home to Arizona. There, she will be with her husband Jay and children. She perks up with a sense of pride that she booked this entire feature dance tour herself that saw her going to the East Coast, Midwest and all points in between for the entire month of March.

The tour was not the only reason for Ashton to be excited and exasperated at the same time. At the beginning March, Ashton Moore inked a two-year deal to work with Club Jenna. Club Jenna Studios is the production house operated by Ms. Jameson and her husband, director Jay Grdina (who acts and works under the stage name Justin Sterling).

“I’ve known Jenna for so long. She is an incredible person. She and her husband Jay are a lot much fun and down to earth. They are great friends and great people to work with. I really love and respect them. Ashton told me.

The two-year deal also marks a special moment for Ashton because she will be doing men again on film. For the three years under contract with Jill Kelly Productions, Ashton only worked with girls.

“My husband isn’t in the business, but he will do a few scenes with me,” Ashton explained. “He won’t do scenes without me, but will do scenes with me.”

She will also be working with a select few men from her personal list to work with. “I just decided the last three years girl/girl films have been good for me, but now I am ready to take that next step up to guys.”

Ashton literally has a list of men she will work with. They have to meet strict criteria from the blonde bombshell.  “Typically I like working with married or men who have a girlfriend, because they seem to treat the girls they work with more respect.” Ashton assures us that her best scenes will be with her husband because those will be complete real.

Another desire Ashton has with signing to Club Jenna is the fact she has a chance to break into the mainstream. “Jenna is great at marketing and getting her name out there. She has helped a lot of girls get on magazine covers like Blender, Maxim and FHM. I want to do that and try my hand at that type of mainstream. I think that is very possible because of signing to Club Jenna.”

Along with the films and breaking into the mainstream Ashton will continue her feature dancing to gain more exposure. She has been house dancing since she was a shy 17-year-old, “I enjoy dancing so much because you get to meet so many people face to face and interact with them,” she told me. “I still get butterflies in my stomach before I dance though. It is a lot of pressure because everyone is there to see you as the feature. Once I get on stage though, I am perfectly relaxed and into my routine.”

Being a feature dancer on tour, making films, doing photo layouts and managing a family, Ashton seems to have little time to breathe and relax. “It keeps me young,” she says with a cute laugh. “My career is on the upswing and it is where I want to be right now in my life.”

With all that has happened so far in 2005, Ashton Moore has remained true to herself and is a completely down to earth girl. She is an intelligent, hard working businesswoman that happens to work in the sex industry. “Why should I get a big head and think I am better than anyone? I am not the president, thank God, “Ashton said with a chuckle. “I am flattered people want to interview me and want to do things for me but I am low maintenance. I don’t see myself as a star - I make porn for a living for God’s sake.”

For the 28-year-old this business only keeps on getting better. Ashton Moore has learned a lot along the way and hasn’t had any bad experiences to speak of. “You just have to be careful and learn from other’s mistakes,” she says.

It took her some time to learn what she wanted to do and where she wanted to go in life. She jumped into porn and things started moving really fast for Ashton. She never sought out to be an adult film star, as she says “I just fell into it. I never thought in a million years I was pretty enough for porn. I saw the girls modeling in Playboy and other magazines and I didn’t see that in me. I got approached by agents, I didn’t believe them, then I met Suze Randall and I was on cloud nine.” After many photo shoots for magazines and being on the covers, Ashton was asked about being in adult movies and she couldn’t turn it down because “Money talks,” as she told me.

Things went fast for Ashton, she signed a deal with Jill Kelly and was being billed as the next Jenna Jameson. Something that was a bit too overwhelming for her. “Everything went so incredibly fast. I had to stop and say whoa, where are we going here? So I stepped away from the business for three years and that was the best thing I could have ever done for me and my career.”  

In those three years away from the business, Ashton went to college and spent time with her family. She eventually graduated with a degree in interior design, something she hopes to utilize once she leaves porn for good. “I decorate and redecorate my house all the time and it has come to the point where my husband will say ‘please stop and go decorate someone else’s house.”

Since coming back from her three-year hiatus, the adult film business has changed a lot. With all these young girls, they do not know the struggles and hard work it takes to achieve such goals and Ashton agrees. “Porn is so different now from when I first started. Girls are coming and going so fast now, they just aren’t sticking around like they used to. Jenna is intellectual and knew what she was doing. These girls today want to become the next Jenna but do not want to work for it.”

A lot of these girls in the revolving doors or porn come in and work in the gonzo movies that are a dime a dozen. It is extreme for sure and it also can eat you alive if you are not careful. “Gonzo films are a high seller that is for sure,” Ashton says. “There is some crazy stuff in that genre and it only gets even crazier. I just think as long as she is doing what she is comfortable with that is ok, but if she goes home upset then its not good. Personally I miss the porn of back in the day where everything had dialogue and set ups with nice production.”

Now that the 5’3” elegant blonde has signed with Club Jenna, she will get to work on those elaborate sets with high production. Ashton Moore is set on her goals and we will all enjoy watching her hit those marks in the length of her career fucking on film.
